Our Board of Trustees

We have 7 trustees, all of whom are passionate about strengthening community wellbeing in Tilbury and southern Thurrock. All currently live, work or have worked in the town and/or surrounding area.

Samson Odubanjo  (Chair)

Bisola Yoozooph (Secretary)

A Chartered Accountant and former Chair of Governors at a nearby Tilbury primary school which under his leadership was given the rating of ‘Good’ by OFSTED after being in special measures for a number of years.  


He brings Project Management skills, financial management and auditing. He is a local resident of Tilbury and helps with the strategic planning and direction of One Community. He is also particularly keen to be part of changing the negative publicity that is often associated with the area.  

Filip completed his A Levels in Creative Media Production at Palmers College in June 2018 and he iwould like to  become a Service Engineer for Hospital Medical equipment. He did a work experience at the Inspire Youth Centre where he created a short film about his move from Poland to the United Kingdom.  


Prior to this, he was an intern at Ongar Building Services supporting on the building sites.  He is a hardworking, dedicated and ambitious young man.  He has IT and social media (Facebook and Instagram) skills and he is passionate about sports, especially football.

A Community Support Worker for Essex County Council, Bisola has lived in Tilbury for over 20 years and is a longstanding member of One Community. Bisola is passionate about looking at ways of improving the local community in terms of community cohesion and individuals fulfilling their potential.

Sam is a local woman who has lived in Tilbury all her life and is currently working at a local Primary Academy as a class teacher. She gained her degree in English Language and Digital Media with a dream to go on to become a teacher which she has now achieved.


Whilst studying she worked at Asda as a community life champion where her role was to help out in the local community and try to make a difference. This was when she found out about One Community. She began volunteering there and has continued to do so ever since. She brings her knowledge of the local area and the experience she has gained working in this community that she calls home.

Was a Local Area Coordinator for Thurrock Council. Currently doing a similar role in the London Borough of Haringey.  Samson worked in partnership with One Community before joining the board of Trustees.  He brings a fresh perspective and also provides links to health and social care service providers towards the sustainability and legacy of One Community going forward.  He also lives in Thurrock with his family.

Aderemi Shodipe2

Arts graduate with creative, theatrical, teaching and youth work experience.  Taught art at secondary and further education levels.

Facilitated regular events for the local Christian Faith Community under the umbrella of Transformation Thurrock (2008-2018). Currently a freelance itinerant speaker at churches both local and beyond. This includes providing creative and interactive contemplative spaces.


Has an art studio at High House Production Park in Purfleet and have lived in Grays (since 1967) in Thurrock most of his life and has a good knowledge of local history.

Marcia has been a member of One Community Development Trust since 2014, she was volunteering two days a week where she was empowered with job enhancing training and an updated CV. She got a job in 2015 with Thurrock Lifestyle Solution.


Her background has always been in customer service and administration and she worked for DWP for 17 years in different capacities. She also works with S.M.I.L.E Ministries where she mentored single mothers for three years in London.
