In 2017, Amazon opened a Fulfilment Centre in the Tilbury area (creating thousands of jobs). In 2019, Amazon donated to One Community to help sustain what we do, and we were also invited to take a tour of their facility. With their support, One Community has been able to support multiple people finding jobs at this facility.

One Community has had the opportunity to host a Southend-on-Sea Family Fun Day multiple times now. The turn out is between 200-400 people, with a wide range of people attending. The outcome of these fun days are always positive, bringing the community together for a day out, lifting people's spirits and bringing individuals together.

Who are One Community Development Trust?

IMG_4597.JPG

We work in partnership with agencies and the community to help ensure that local people are able to participate in and gain from the opportunities, and that needs are addressed in the best way for the community.

One Community is about bringing together local people and groups to create a place to be proud of – making the best of the different experiences, backgrounds, skills and potential particularly in Tilbury, Chadwell and other parts of southern Thurrock.

One Community Development Trust is a locally grown initiative, created by community groups, voluntary groups and Tilbury and Chadwell residents, for the benefit of local people across southern Thurrock in particular. Lots of change and regeneration is planned for this area.
